Dr. Petar Iordanov

Dr. Petar Iordanov is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Limerick. From 1994 to 1999, Petar studied at the Technical University of Sofia, where he obtained his M.Eng. degree. In the course of his study, he specialised in Control Systems Engineering, and for his Master’s Thesis he examined the application of linear matrix inequalities in the design of robust control systems, in particular, the H optimisation problem. In 1999, he started as a full-time Ph.D. researcher at University of Limerick. Petar completed his Ph.D in 2003 with a dissertation entitled "Robust Analysis and Synthesis of Systems Subject to Parametric Uncertainty Using the Structured Singular Value". From 2003 to 2007, Petar worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Dynamics and Control Group, Department of Electronic Engineering, NUI Maynooth. During this period, he worked in the Modelling and Control strand of the SFI funded PlasMAC project (Plasma Formation, Measurement and Control), research collaboration between DCU, NUI Maynooth and industrial partners, such as, Intel and Lam Research. Between 2007 and 2009, Dr. Iordanov was employed at Dublin City University, where he conducted research on the assessment of renewable energy potential in urban areas. Since 2009 he has been with the Circuits and System Research Centre, University of Limerick, where his research focuses on modelling, robustness analysis and digital control of low-power switch mode power converters for a variety of commercial applications.
